Meat Dishes that are Good for Your Health

When you read articles about weight loss, you will usually receive tips about eliminating meat from your diet. Meat is high in cholesterol and is not ideal for your heart. Although it is true, it does not mean you need to eliminate meat from your diet. It is still a quality source of protein and including it in your diet could be beneficial for you.

It is what you do in the kitchen that determines if the meat is healthy or not. When you choose the right cut, and you do not add unhealthy ingredients, the lean meat that you are cooking would be fine for you. Even when your goal is to lose weight, you could still benefit from eating selected meat. These are the healthy meat options to consider.

Sirloin steak

It is a flavorful cut with up to 25 grams of protein for every 3 ounces. It is less fatty than other beef cuts. It does not contain saturated fat. Compared with T-bone or rib-eye, the saturated fat content of sirloin is way lower. You can check out the best-tasting steaks at https://www.kasbah-grill.com. Since the restaurant serves kosher meals, there is a guarantee that you are getting healthy meat.

Rotisserie chicken

Chicken is a safer meat option than pork or beef. However, you also need to consider how you prepare it. Deep fried chicken is unhealthy, but rotisserie chicken is not. The good thing with this type of chicken is that it does not rely much on added ingredients to maximize the flavors. You do not need to add too much salt and many spices to improve the taste.

Chicken thigh

When buying chicken at the grocery store, you need to choose the thighs. This portion contains unsaturated fats which are healthy along with other vitamins and minerals. As long as you do not add tons of high-sodium sauces and marinades when preparing it, chicken thighs are good for you.

Porkchop

Pork tenderloin is an excellent protein source. It is low in fat. As long as you remove all the fatty portions of pork, it is okay for you. Again, like any other meat source, you need to be cautious not to use high-sodium products to improve the flavor.

Canned fish

If you prefer fish meat over other meat sources, it is a good idea. Fish does not contain too much cholesterol. It has fat, but the right kind. The omega-3 fatty acids found in most fish are excellent for your health, especially the heart. You can find canned fish if you cannot cook fresh fish right away, to ensure that you can still eat it after a long time. Canned fish in water or olive oil is ideal. It is not high in sodium.

Given these reasons, it is time to rethink meat consumption. You need to be smart about what you put in your mouth, and you also need to consider a balanced meal.
