Best VR Sports Games

Virtual Reality headsets are highly promising, but they are not flying off the shelves. This, however, does not mean that there are no great games here—it is just taking people a long while to catch on.

Today, let us talk about the best sports games on the VR console or device. Lose yourself in the action-packed and sweaty experience that VR has to offer.

QuiVR

This game is a fantasy-based kind of archery. It is still a sports game, but it added elements of combat. The game was launched on Steam in 2018. It is compatible with a PC, but you need a VR headset to experience the real thing.

QuiVR is a Diablo-esque kind of game. Here, you take the mantle of a character, and you hunt the open-world lands for monsters. So far, people are happy with it and calling it the best bow-and-arrow shooting game.

Although it is the best bow-and-arrow game, QuiVR still has a lot left to be desired. Do not get your hopes too high. It will not be in any sports betting online facility soon. The graphics are acceptable, and it does offer multiplayer mode. However, it is not as popular yet as other MMORPGs.

BoxVR/FitXR

If you are a fan, then go all-in in this hand-to-hand boxing in virtual reality. BOXVR’s boxing is a success. Launched in 2019, the game received great reviews from platforms like Steam and PSVR. Do not be confused, the game was released as BoxVR, but they later changed it to FitXR.

Also, this boxing game is not about fighting. Rather, it is a fitness exercise where you use boxing as your main method of getting fit. To make it work, you need to buy a pair of controllers for your hand. These controllers will mimic the movement of your hands. You can download the game via PC or PlayStation. If you have a set-up for a VR headset, then all the better.

You will choose a trainer. This trainer is a real person who recorded lessons. He will show you how to properly stand, and he will show you different methods of boxing. Since this sports game is a fitness exercise, we are not expecting it to be on online sportsbooks like GGBet. Unless, of course, if they add a real fight between players.

The Climb

This game is rather simple—you climb mountains. You also have options to explore caves. Pretty much, it is at the top of all mountain-climbing games out there. It is reminiscent of that classic scene from Mission: Impossible 2.  In The Climb, your goal is to get a high score and beat the record of other players. You need to climb to the top of a mountain in the shortest time possible.

What makes it an awesome game is that you get to experience what a real climber sees. If you put a game like this on a flat screen, you will not enjoy it. In VR, it is different. As you turn your head, the scenery is also going to change. It will show you the great landscape. The higher you are, the better view you have.

First Person Tennis: The Real Tennis Simulator

Last on our list is a tennis game. The good thing about VR devices is that the controllers feel like tennis rackets. Naturally, a tennis game is in proper order. As such, tennis has become a staple of VR games.

The best among all of them is First Person Tennis: The Real Tennis Simulator. Although there are only a few modes available in the game, you get to experience a real simulation. As you advance, the experience also becomes tougher. It will test your limits. If you want an easier game, then play Arcade Mode. It is more fun, and it requires a little precision.

One thing you may like about it is that you have the option to play alone or on multiplayer mode. Take note that you should have at least five square meters of playing space. The game requires that you move as if you are playing tennis in real life.

VR is a great experience. However, it is also a lot more expensive. For example, you can buy the Oculus Quest for about $500 USD. Other consoles like the PlayStation and Xbox are in a similar price range, but they have more games to offer. The cost of VR is what makes people shy away from the device. Despite that, we are confident that it will catch on. It only needs time. There is support and demand for the technology, and we will see the rise of VR in the days to come.
