There are many ways we can express ourselves: through the things that we talk about, the way we live, and the way we dress. Self-expression is a broad topic, and a lot of people are now more open about showing their personalities and characters, thanks to the age of the Internet where we get to learn more about the world and other people all over the globe and what they are up to. We get so much inspiration and ideas from others that we try for ourselves as well. Fashion is a great way to express yourself and show everyone what you are about.
Clothing
Clothing takes up most part of a fashion ensemble. There is a wide range of genres: chic, rugged, casual, formal, etc. But you don’t have to choose just one. You can have items from each genre and make your own fashion statement with them. There are no rules to follow when it comes to fashion, although some people say there are. You don’t have to adhere to these fashion rules. Wear what you want, even if the items don’t really match. Colours, prints, lengths, comfort – they are all subjective. As long as you are comfortable in what you are wearing, then go for it.
Bags
Bag materials are aplenty: leather, canvass, fabric, nylon, etc. You can wear a bag that is appropriate for the occasion, or that will look good with your outfit. Going to the beach? Why not go for personalised tote bags that are roomy and can get dirty and sandy? Attending a wedding? A simple clutch will do. Have so many things to bring? A backpack with wide straps will make carrying things easy. You have so many designs, colours and types you can choose from. Why not have one of each?
Shoes
They say your shoes should match your bag and your belt. But who are they to dictate if you want a contrasting pair of shoes to express your individuality? Invest in a good pair of walking shoes for everyday use, another for formal occasions and another for casual days. Make sure that the shoes you wear represent your unique personality and are comfortable to wear too.
Accessories
Hats, headwear, jewellery, watches, scarves and the like are accessories that help you liven up your outfit but are also functional. You can wear accessories with your outfits, whether they complement each other or not.
Do not be afraid to be who you are. Do you want to wear quirky clothing? Colourful shoes? Sport a crazy hairstyle? People will look, either to admire or to judge, but it is not your business to care about what they think about how you look. As long as you are happy and satisfied with yourself, their opinions are just white noise. Do not be afraid of coming out of your fabulous shell and start wowing people with how amazing you dress and carry yourself.
