3 Tips For Making Bath Time Safer And More Fun

By the time it gets to the end of the day, many parents are completely worn out from parenting. However, bath time, which is something that many families do before putting kids to bed at the end of the day, is when you as parent need to be at your most vigilant, as it’s very possible for kids to get very hurt during bath time.

To keep this from happening to your kids and ensure that you put your kids to bed on the right note, here are three tips for making bath time safer and more fun for everyone.

Bring In The Right Toys

Bringing in toys to the bathtub can be a great way to keep your kids entertained and distracted so that you can wash them without too much fuss. However, bringing in the wrong toys can make bath time harder and more dangerous.

Just as when playing during other times of the day, you won’t want to bring in any bath toys that are small and could potentially choke your child if they put the toy in their mouth. Small toys can also be hazards for your plumbing if they don’t get stopped by your bathtub stopper and wind up flushed down the drain. You should also try to opt for soft toys rather than hard toys, as a hard toy could hurt your child if they sit on it or get it stuck under them while they’re playing in the bath.

Play Together

Although you might feel like you’re at your wits end by the time bath time comes around, this can be a great time for you to play with your kids before putting them to bed. And since you need to be right there with them when they’re in the tub anyway to ensure that they don’t drown or get hurt in other ways, you might as well play along with them while they are in the bath.

Use Fun Bath Mats

While kids are playing in the bath, it’s very common for them to want to stand up and move around in the bath. However, this can be very dangerous if your kids slip and fall into the water.

To keep this from happening, consider putting down a non-slip bath mat on the floor of your bathtub. You can find all kinds of fun and colorful bath mats that your kids will love to have in the bath with them to play and interact with. Along with this, you should also keep a bath mat outside of the bath as well so that your kids don’t slip on the wet floor when they get out of the bath.

If you want to make sure that your kids are safe and have fun when they’re in the bath, consider using the tips mentioned above to help you accomplish both of these goals.
