Devon: The Jewel in England’s South West Corner

With its mix of sandy beaches, fossil cliffs and national parks, Devon is the perfect place to enjoy a summer holiday.

Featuring two historic cities, vibrant market towns and enchanting villages full of culture, history and charm, visitors are never short of something to do in the county.

There are some beautiful fishing villages to explore as well as quaint market villages, plus larger towns and cities offering a wide range of shopping, restaurants, history and heritage.

Read on as we look at three of the best places to visit in Devon.

Torquay

With a busy harbour, international marina, sandy beach and wonderful array of continental style eateries and cafes, Torquay offers the perfect base for a seaside holiday or short break.

Its spectacular coastline and outstanding natural beauty will appeal to lovers of the great outdoors, while its selection of restaurants and pubs are some of the finest on the south coast.

Sailing, boat trips and walking are amongst the popular daytime activities in Torquay, but the town really comes to life when the sun goes down.

Play up your winnings from the Sun Bingo promo code to enjoy vibrant nightlife which features top shows, live music and much more.

Dartmouth

One of the prettiest coastal towns around, Dartmouth is situated on the western bank of the Dart Estuary and its harbour has been a seafaring hub for many centuries.

With numerous festivals and events, exhibitions and markets taking place throughout the year, there is always something happening in this vibrant town.

Put on your walking boots and discover the stunning South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the South West Coast Path, both of which are on Dartmouth’s doorstep.

With castles, forts, historical houses, museums and more to explore in the town and surrounding area, there is so much more to Dartmouth than meets the eye.

Brixham

Brixham is still one of the busiest fishing ports in the UK and a working town, but it has much more to offer visitors than that.

Originally a Saxon settlement, Brixham was the landing place of William of Orange during the Glorious Revolution and many of the street names there reflect the town’s history.

Art-lovers will be in their element there, with the town boasting a great range of art galleries featuring local and visiting artists.

One of the major attractions in Brixham is the Golden Hind replica, a fascinating recreation of Sir Frances Drake’s flagship which is sure to enthral all the family.
